Good light is the be-all and end-all for us humans - both at work and in our leisure time. Light not only has an impact on our physical energy and motivation, it also improves our ability to react by facilitating the visual detection of shapes and movements. In short: we need good light to notice objects better. This plays an important role on the sports field, among other things.

Our Sports & Area business unit deals with the lighting of sports and large areas. We have already been able to demonstrate our decades of experience in the field of sports lighting with traditional light sources many times in the modernisation of sports facilities. Today we present the possibilities of LED tennis court lighting!

For the renewal of tennis court lighting systems, Radium offers state-of-the-art and energy-saving LED solutions to you. With our LED luminaires, which have been specially developed for sports and large areas, sports venues are optimally illuminated. We are also happy to assist you with service: to support you in planning and realisation, we offer you an individual lighting calculation as well as the elaboration of adjustment plans, on-site service for the adjustment of the luminaires or support with funding applications.

Radium LED luminaires

We use state-of-the-art chip-on-board (COB) technology for our LED floodlights. One special feature of our luminaires: In combination with their individualised anti-glare shades, they provide optimal, uniform illumination of the pitch while at the same time enabling a huge reduction in stray light. This minimises light immission next to the playing surface, which in turn results in significantly less glare for the surrounding area.

For optimal lighting of tennis courts, we would go for powerful 4-mast systems (e.g. 14m mast height). Here you have the choice between different designs for single and double court lighting:

Each individual luminaire has a connected load of 300 W.
Lighting with Radium LED floodlights complies with DIN EN 12193 sports facility lighting class III (min. 200 lux, uniformity min. 0.6).

Especially in populated areas, the reduction of light immission is becoming more and more important. That's why we take special care to ensure that the light only reaches where it is needed - namely on the playing field. This can be easily seen from our illustrations above.
