Dispose of LED lamps correctly – protect the environment and resources.
This is what International E-Waste Day on October 14 is intended to remind us of.

More and more households are using LED lamps because they are energy-efficient, durable, and energy-saving. However, what many people do not know is that LEDs contain tiny little bits of harmful substances that must be disposed of correctly and valuable raw materials which could still be used elsewhere.
LEDs consist of metals such as aluminum, copper, and rare earths, which can be recycled. At the same time, residues of other substances can pollute the environment if disposed of incorrectly. If LEDs are disposed of in household waste, these substances may end up in incinerators or landfills and damage the soil, water, and air.
Specialized collection points and return points in stores accept old LEDs. Specialists break them down into glass, metal, plastic, and electronic components. This allows valuable raw materials to be recovered and environmental pollution to be significantly reduced.
Radium is particularly committed to environmentally friendly disposal. We are therefore taking today's International E-Waste Day as an opportunity to provide information on the correct disposal of LED lamps. Join us in helping to conserve natural resources and protect the environment in the long term.
