Since September 1st 2013, the new energy label for lamps has become effective:
With the new classes A+ and A++ (F and G are omitted) it shall be shown, that light sources are getting more and more efficient. Also, their overall energy consumption shall be shown. Thus, Radium packaging cartons have been conformed to the regulation.

The EU directive 874/2012 ('Energy labelling of lamps') now affects more or less all lamps - in the past this has only been for example mains voltage lamps.

Luminaires must show the labelling regarded only from March 1st, 2014. This label should account for the energy efficiency of the lamps which can be operated with it.
