The flexible LED strips look unpretentious and modern in a wide variety of outdoor applications: Whether on terraces for decorative lighting, on  stairs as orientation lighting or as an eye-catcher on building facades.

However, it is important for outdoor lighting that the IP protection is correct. This indicates how well the product is protected against water and dust.

For an outdoor application in a roofed area, for example, IP44 protection is usually sufficient. The light source is thus protected against the penetration of splash water from all sides.

For installation in places where the LED strip is directly exposed to rainfall, such as on an unroofed house wall, we recommend at least IP65 protection. This means that the light source is protected against water jets from all sides. If this is still not sufficient for your application, choose a strip with IP67 protection. This means it may even be submerged one metre under water for up to 30 minutes.
