Bye-bye incandescent lamp!
It's time for new technologies

Another step of the 'ban on incandescent lamps', the energy saving directive of the EU regarding household lamps, will come into effect on September first, now.
By implementation measures of ‚ecodesign directive’, the EU have put up specifications for the different fields of the electrical industry which have to be observed by production.
Which means in practice:
Household lamps without reflector have to reach minimal efficiencies or they may not be brought to market within EU any more.
There are, however, alternatives even now such as energy saving halogen lamps, compact fluorescent lamps (energy saving lamps) and LED retrofit lamps - there is always a good solution for every application.
Detailed informationen regarding the directives can be found at Valuable - EU Guidelines.
Technical properties such as light colours, switching cycles and service life make the decision for a certain lamp type quite complicated. Detailed information on the lamp packaging as well as on the product data sheets in the internet will give support here.
The Radium ErP Plug&Save calculator brings light to the dark: it shows the compatible alternatives from the Radium product portfolio and offers further valuable information. Moreover, it calculates the possible savings regarding CO2 and in € to be achieved by the change.
