In August 2025, the industry association LightingEurope submitted a request for an extension regarding high-pressure discharge lamps to the European Commission. This request has got the effect that our metal halide lamps and sodium vapor lamps may continue to be produced and placed on the market beyond the currently set date of February 24, 2027 – until new regulations come into power. If the extension request is not granted, the European Commission must nevertheless grant a transition period of at least 12 months for a final phase-out.
