Radium supplies cruise ships in the USA with light sources.

We visited our long-time partner David Folic from Mareleng Inc. in Fort Lauderdale/Florida.

For more than 20 years, Mareleng is now a Radium partner. Mareleng is a supplier of electrical materials such as cables and lamps for cruise ships. Radium Managing Director Jörn Krieger and Senior Sales Director TECH Sascha Hiller recently visited their company in Fort Lauderdale.

From 2020 to 2022, the cruise industry faced challenges due to the Corona pandemic. Many ships were out of order or moved only by a hull crew in emergency service. As a result, demand for replacement lamps was low, which greatly affected our business with Mareleng. This year, the cruise industry is making a big comeback. Radium is pleased to see that this will also bring a big increase in sales of Mareleng.

During our visit, we also introduced new products to David Folic, who is the Director of Lighting and Electrical Products in charge of the business at Mareleng. According to Folic, the Radium LED Strip portfolio, for example, is a perfect all-round solution for lighting tasks in the cruise ship sector.

By the way, did you know that the electrics on cruise ships in the U.S. run on 220-240V – the same as in Germany – instead of 110V, which is common in the U.S.?
