The required lamp will vanish from the market - What can the user do?
There are the following possibilities for the user:
1:1 exchange to a fitting replacement lamp with CE marking
For example, standard to triphosphor fluorescent lamps
- Advantage: Very much cost efficient
- Disadvantage: More, potential savings cannot be realised
- Determination of the fitting lamp: exchange tables, calculation tools like Radium EuP Plug&Save
Restoration / retrofit of the lighting installation
After matching the operational gear and maybe the reflectors the chosen replacement lamps with CE marking can be operated.
- Advantage: cost efficient
- Disadvantage: More, potential savings cannot be realised, lighting installation usually not operated in most optimal way
Complete renovation
In principle, the user plans independent of the old installation a completely new one. Lamps and fixtures/ luminaires can be chosen freely and, therefore, creates space for application of current top technology.
- Advantage: Optimal lighting solution according to current state of the art technology
- Disadvantage: Large-scale investment with high costs
A sensible exchange is always oriented towards the application. Therefore, it makes sense to check the installation individually and only after that, decide if instead of a simple lamp change a whole renovation of the installation would be better. Promotion programs, an ecologic prize or such things can ease the path to a decision like that (see also directive ESD).
Individual solutions require know-how and creativity. Due to this reason, when a change of the lighting installation is up working together with a light planner is strongly recommended.
